Rob Edwards is hitting the road and bringing his band for a special run of headline shows off the back of the release of the powerful and rhythmically driven “Apmere.”
“Apmere is about the disconnect I feel from the effects the stolen generation has on our family, discussing the current state of culture and how that change and healing will not come from the same models and policies previously in place” Rob says.
Already a huge year, Rob adds appearances at SANTOS Tour Down Under, NSS Studio @ WOMAD 23 to a long list of accomplishments in recent times such as, supporting artists Ash Grunwald, Budjerah, Jack Botts, Barkaa and Christine Anu, with performances at Harvest Rock Festival the Jobs, Skills Summit 22' at the Canberra Parliament House and South Australia’s NYE Light Up Festival. Not to mention multiple finalist for Best Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Artist in the SA Music Awards 21’ and 22’. Apmere can also be heard on the cutting edge art display HEXADECA all over Australia.
Bringing a dynamic and captivating live show, Rob Edwards with the help of his taleneted band infuses Soul/Jazz with just the right touch of Folk inspired storytelling, musical exploration and groovy good times. The set is like a book, a journey much like life, with a shifting flow between songs to keep audiences immersed and intrigued all in a safe, educational and enjoyable environment. Lyrically approaching conversations of Stolen Generation, mental Health and Healing, while keeping heads bopping and hips swaying.
